The year is 508 of the Age of Arceus. Celadon Castle town is a prosperous city of 500 citizens, including guards and the Royal Family. Queen Amelia rules fairly from within the Castle walls, and all is well. This month, the Adventurer's Guild celebrates the 2nd anniversary of its official endorsement by the Crown by opening its doors to new members, with the offer of a free Pokemon for those who attend the event, and well-paying jobs for those who sign up. Rumors of unrest in the upper echelons of the Guild are whispered in the shadows of alleyways and dark corners of seedy pubs; and some even suggest that the various Legendary/Mythical Pokemon Cults have infiltrated its ranks. Even these dark whispers aren't enough to cloud your mind, however, whether you believe them or not. Today, you plan to head to Saffron City. To the Adventurer's Guild, in order to obtain a new Pokemon friend. Whatever your chosen path in life, it'd be silly to pass up an opportunity like this.
Whoever you are, wherever you're from, you've finally arrived in Saffron City. The day is just beginning, and the special Event lasts all day. Seems you have plenty of time to explore the city, make new friends, whatever it is you may wish to do.

Sano fidgeted with his partner's Pokeball nervously, watching the people from an alley. He hadn't seen these many people in his life, let alone in one place. Saffron was huge, there must have been at least a hundred people in the town square alone. After taking several minutes to overcome his initial anxiety, Sano slipped out of the alley and into the square. He was reminded of his mother's coveting of city food, so he set off looking for a place that appeared to sell edibles of some nature.

As the last note of a song left Tiki's mouth, her partner, Star, did the cutest back flip, and both struck a grand finishing pose. The audience is the small plaza erupted in cheers, and claps. Both performers took a bow as coin and paper rained down on them. Tiki bowed, blew kisses, and waved as she scooped up the money in her money pouch. "Thank you! Thank you all! Pass the story of this performance to your grandchildren! Tell them of the wonderful, and amazing Tiki..." She bent down, picked up, and held out the Eevee. "...and Star too! The cutest, fluffiest, and most talented Eevee in the world." Tiki snuggled her partner, and skipped off the stage.
As she walked down the street, among all the noise and grandeur, Tiki shook her money pouch, and smiled brightly. "Oh man, Star, we really pulled in some cash!" Star gave a cry of happiness from atop Tiki's shoulder. "This was definitely a great decision. We gave a stellar performance, got paid big time, aaaannnnddd....We might just get a new member to the family." Tiki's smile grew wider, she swayed back forth to the music surrounding her, and happily bounced towards more fun.

The staff his master had given him settled against Clay's shoulder like it was meant to be there. Fan was hopping along by his side, the Chimchar's bright eyes darting this way and that to take in the life of the city. He couldn't help like he was setting out on a grand journey...
... Even if all he was doing to start with was walking a few streets over. The Adventurer's Guild headquarters wasn't that far from Master Nob's dojo, after all. As grateful as Clay was to the old martial artist for taking him in and showing him how being a human worked, he didn't want to stay at the dojo his whole life. Master Nob was a member of the Guild himself and was all too happy to encourage his young student to turn his wanderlust and desire to see more of humanity to the end of helping others as an official adventurer.
Fan chittered something at him, and he cocked his head curiously. "Huh. Yes, sounds like something going on over there. Let's see?" The Guild wasn't going anywhere, after all.
They turned the corner to see the crowd in the plaza, and a girl about his age with an Eevee on her shoulder walking away. He waved at her cheerfully. "Hello! What did I miss?" he asked, as if they were old friends already.

Divini winced at the sudden applause erupting beside her. If it were her choice she would not have been up before noon, but it was not long ago that her partner Viiral literally dragged her out of bed with his sharp teeth around her ankle. It was she who had told Viiral to act as her defacto alarm clock however, which left her with nothing to direct her vague irritation towards. She floated through the crowd simmering a sour mood as her overzealous venipede sat on her head, tapping her skull to help guide the psychic's groggy body through the mass of people.
Last night it seemed like a great idea to get up early to enjoy the day's festivities, but she was regretting that decision as the cheers rattled her brain. It may have been a good performance, whatever they hurrahed for, but she couldn't help but glare daggers in their general direction. She needs to find something to distract her from this drowsy agitation, else she might start looking for a fight...
Fortunately, a sweet smell of morning pastries wafted past her face, and in an effort to quell her bad mood, she hovered in the direction of bakery.

Divini and Sano
Tempted by the smell of freshly baked goods, the two individuals head for the nearby bakery, hoping to score some delicious pastries or breads. The shop has all sorts of people going in and out of its doors. This must be one of their best days ever. The Guild Event brought in all kinds of potential customers. Intent on your prize, neither party notices the other until you practically run into one another in the doorway.

Tiki turns towards the boy speaking to her. "Hm?" She blinks, and quickly becomes very animated. "Hmmmm!? Missed!? Are you saying you missed my performance over there!? Gosh....hmph!" She, and Star both puff their cheeks out in feign outrage, but start chortling, and smile. "Ahhh just kiddin'. The name's Tiki, and this my partner Star. We just got done putting on a performance." She grins big, and holds out her hand.

Guided primarily by his nose, Sano nearly collides into Divini as they walk into the pastry shop.
"Ah, I'm terribly sorry," he says, and weaves around her to avoid startling the groggy psychic. "I'm not very used to large crowds." He steps back to allow her to enter before him.
"I was looking for a bite before heading to the Event, but honestly I've never bought food from a shop before. Is this an acceptable first place?"

THUNK.
Not expecting the sudden bump, Divini slid into the Bakery's door frame, head striking it with a heavy thud. Viiral spun around and hissed, threatening to lunge at Sano. Divini hovered motionless against the door for a moment, before turning slowly to face the boy.
"Yes.." she replied with measured calm, a sleeve arm rising to rub her forehead. Her hair began to hum lightly with psychic energy.
Ugh... Yokels... she thought.

Sano, seeing the results of his negligence, he wracks his brain for a way to not piss off literally the first person he comes into contact with.
"Listen, I'm really sorry. I'll buy you some food, once I figure out how." He extends his hand in geniality.

Viiral nearly leaped to eviscerate Sano's out stretched hand when a blast of psionic power rippled through Divini's hair. The angry venipede's hissing subsided, and he sat back down atop her curly head.
"Well it look's like it's time for a tutorial," she said as she took Sano's gesture with her free hand. The promise of free food was always welcome, especially now that she was living on her own with a limited budget. "Monteblanc, Divini Monteblanc. Let me show you exactly how to use that wallet."

Clay stares at her hand for a moment before remembering what that's for and shaking it. In fact, he bows a little as well. He gives her a big smile. "Oh, right! It's nice to meet you, Tiki and Star! I'm Clay, and this is my sister, Fan."
He nods down toward the Chimchar next to him. Fan sticks her hand out as well, mostly just in imitation of Clay. She hasn't been bothering to pay attention to his human lessons.
"Looks like you drew quite a crowd. I'm sorry I missed it. What do you perform?" He pauses, frowning slightly. "Should that be 'how do you perform'?"

Tiki tilts her head in thought. "Hmmmm...I don't know...I guess we just do it! Anyways, I'm very good at singing, and tricks like juggling. Star here is no slouch herself as she can do tricks, and dance." She lets out a laugh, and her stomach lets out a large growl. Her laughter dies out, and she blushes. "Oh wow. Listen, wanna grab something to eat? I could use something tasty right about now." She holds her stomach, and Star lets out a cry of agreement.

"Food is always good!" Clay grins brightly. He's... pretty much a bottomless pit in any case - turns out he uses up a lot of energy. Fan makes small, agreeing noises as she clambers up onto Clay's shoulder, apparently having decided that Star has the right idea in letting her trainer do all the walking.
"I guess I shouldn't stay too long - I'm on my way to join the Adventurer's Guild! Do you know a good place, maybe? I don't go to this part of town much."

With a gasp, she turned while continuing to walk, and says, "I'm heading to the guild too! It's gonna be sooo cool!" Tiki and Star scan the numerous shops, and kiosks, when she suddenly tugs at Clay's arm, and rushes towards a pastry shop. "O-Over there! It's calling to me!" She quickly pushes past a conversing pair, and up to the counter to frantically order food. Turning around with her mouth full, she looks at the tall man, and long black haired girl. "*munch munch* ...Hiii..." She sheepishly waves her hand.

As Tiki turns, she comes face to face with a venipede frozen in midair, teeth bared and in mid lunge. With a small motion from Divini's sleeves, Viiral is sat back atop her head. He began to hiss again when a biscuit flew up into his mouth, placating him.
"Watch where you're walking, OK?" she say as she pats her partner, "This little guy doesn't like being pushed around, and that's already happened once today." She takes a slow, obvious glance in Sano's direction as she takes a deliberate bite out of a double frosted doughnut.

Clay looks up at the two people Tiki almost bowled over... and up... and up. He's still used to being head and shoulders above even his Infernape "parents", so he hasn't quite adjusted yet to the fact that he's actually rather short for a human. "You know," he calls over to Tiki, "Master Nob's always telling me not to be so reckless. Venipede can have pretty nasty tempers. I got bitten by one once when I was little and it stung for days. I had to eat so many Pecha Berries."
With absolutely no sense of shame at all, he turns back to the tall guy and the girl with the Venipede on her head and bows to them with a big smile on his face. Oddly, he always smiles with his lips closed. "Hi there! I'm Clay, and this is my sister Fan." He gestures up to the Chimchar who's still sitting on his shoulder. She seems to be rather fixated on the doughnut in the girl's hands - Fan might not be sure what it is, but she knows food when she smells it.

Sano finishes struggling to pay for Divini's biscuit and donut along with one of his own before turning to greet the young pair.
"Good to meet you! I'm Sano. My partner Mitis is in her ball right now; she hates crowds even more than I do."
He takes a tentative bite of his pastry, and immediately forgets the unpleasantries of the day.
"Mmm, you must try this remarkable bread stuff," he says between bites. "It's unlike anything I've ever had."

Tiki gulps down her food. "It sure is!...*munch munch*...anyhooo...Sorry about crashing through you guys earlier. It's almost as if my stomach had taken over!" She holds some bread up to star who starts munching away. She looks at the girl and her Venipede, giggles, and puts Star on top of her own head. "I'll introduce myself. I'm the magnificent Tiki! Singing, and performing extraordinaire! This up here is Star my trusted partner!" She grins, puts her hand on her hips, and turns her head to the side in a boastful manner. "Pleased to meet ya!"

"Charmed..." she says as she takes another bite. Now that she was fully awake from the sugar, she began wonder how she was now in conversation with a chittery performer, a chimchar's supposed brother, and a yokel who's never had a crescant before. She was getting a mixed feelings of 'why am I with these weirdos' and 'this is a little more interesting than cravat wearing nobles'. She lifted her legs up, crossing them and her arms as she appraised the two newcomers. Her body rested a good four feet from the ground.
"Divini," she said after a moment, "and Viiral." She motioned to the venipede chewing his biscuit, and staring warily at Star.
